Sun. (Feb. 19)
The film documentary film “Ley’Go” about 4 dedicated students in Liberia striving for a brighter future. Also discussion & live music!

Ley’Go follows the lives of four young Liberians as they strive towards a brighter future. These students–Romeo, Jessie, Amos, and Moses–navigate the challenge of getting an education in a country still reeling from the effects of a long civil war and the recent ebola crisis. Their journey shows the remarkable resilience of young Liberians who, despite the odds, are overcoming adversity in order to change their circumstances and uplift their communities along the way. The film was directed and edited by New England filmmakers Jesse Galkowski and Matthew Brady and produced by Maya French and Kim Ouillette. It features music by Liberian Hipco artist Takun J.

The students featured in Ley’Go are members and leaders of Liberian Education Fund, a non-profit organization that provides youth in Liberia with educational opportunities by building connections among students across the world. LEF offers scholarships to a select number of Liberian students to attend high school and university. This funding is provided by high school students in the U.S. who organize and fundraise to support their peers in Liberia. Current fundraising chapters are located at Belfast Area High School, Troy A. Howard Middle School, Camden Hills Regional High School, and the Watershed School. What is coming soon?
“Are you going to get…..?”

Good questions.

We are a three-screen theatre in a twelve screen world so we can’t get everything all the time.
But we do get most films year in and year out.
